What is Special inspections
NYC Department of Building describes that Special Inspections must be conducted during the construction process to verify that work is being done in accordance to approved plans and specifications. Special Inspections must be performed by Special Inspectors on behalf of a Special Inspection Agency.All Special Inspections in NYC require filing the TR1 forms with DOB NOW.
Special Inspectors who are performing Special inspections in NYC area related to Sprinkler system,Mechanical system ,Standpipe system file their TR1 form (also called TR-1) online in the DOB NOW portal and this has a substitute name as DPL1 form.
Qualification requirements of Special inspectors in NYC
Individuals and organizations performing or supervising the Special inspections in NYC must obtain a Special Inspection Agency Registration Number along with all the Special inspectors hired to perform special inspections must possess certain qualifications as described by Appendix A.
