Structural wood Frame:Â Structural wood frame construction, also known as engineered wood or structural sandwich panels, is the most common type of modern construction. A good way to define structural wood frame construction is that it a multi-story building made up of the exterior walls, surrounded by insulation and covered by siding. Structural wood frame construction has proven to be far more energy efficient than other types of building.
Inspections shall be performed for wood structural framing to determine compliance with the approved construction documents.
Exception: Prefabricated wood structural elements and assemblies subject to Section 1704.6.1 through 1704.6.3 of NYC Construction code shall not be subject to progress inspection.
